스완 (C/2020 F8) 혜성은 2020년 3월 25일 SOHO (SOlar and Heliospheric Observatory) 탐사선의 SWAN (Solar Wind ANisotropies) 카메라에서 촬영한 데이터에서 Michael Mattiazzo가 발견하였습니다. 이 혜성은 현재 5등급으로 남반구 관측자들이 새벽에 볼 수 있으며 고래자리를 가로 질러 긴 꼬리를 가지고 꾸준히 밝아지고 있습니다. 스완 혜성은 5월 중순부터 물고기자리에서 3등급의 밝기로 북반구 관측자들이 새벽에 볼 수 있습니다. 스완 혜성 (C/2020 F8)은 계속 밝아지며, 5월 22-23일 사이에 2.3등급의 최대 밝기에 도달합니다. 근일점은 5월 27일이며, 이때의 거리는 6,400만 km입니다.

Comet (C/2020 F8) SWAN was discovered by Michael Mattiazzo in data taken on March 25, 2020 from the Solar Wind Anisotropies (SWAN) camera on the Solar and Heliospheric Observer (SOHO) spacecraft. Comet SWAN is presently 5th magnitude, long tail, and brightening steadily as it plows across Cetus at dawn for Southern Hemisphere observers. This Comet appear in Pisces at 3th magnitude for Northern Hemisphere observers by month's mid. Comet SWAN (C/2020 F8) will continue to brighten and will reach a peak magnitude of 2.3 between May 22–23. Perihelion occurs on May 27th at a distance of 64 million kilometers (0.43 AU).
