한낮에 카스토르의 동반성을 명확하게 볼 수 있습니다.

 

카스토르는 쌍둥이자리에서 두번째로 밝은 별입니다. 카스토르 A와 B의 밝기는 1.9등급과 3.0등급입니다. 이 별은 맨눈으로는 하나의 별로 보이지만 실제로는 3개의 쌍성계를 가진 6중성입니다. 카스토르는 6개의 별로 이루어진 연성계입니다. 3개의 별은 안시 관측으로 가능하지만 나머지 3개의 별은 분광 쌍성으로 눈으로 직접 관측하는 것은 불가능합니다. 카스토르 A, B, 그리고 C 별의 밝기는 1.9등급, 3.0등급, 그리고 9.8등급입니다.

 

We can clearly see Castor's companion star in daylight.

 

Castor is the second-brightest star in the constellation of Gemini. These two binary pairs have magnitudes of 1.9 and 3.0. It appears singular to the naked eye, but it is actually a sextuple star system organized into three binary pairs. Castor is a multiple star system made up of six individual stars; there are three visual components, all which are spectroscopic binaries. The apparent magnitude of Castor A, B, and C stars is +1.9, +3.0, and +9.8.
