천왕성과 해왕성에서 새로운 위성 발견.

One is orbiting Uranus, and two are orbiting Neptune.
Dozens of moons have been discovered around Jupiter and Saturn over the past two decades. However, since 2003 no new moons had been discovered orbiting Uranus, and only one new moon was officially added for Neptune. The new discoveries bring the total tally to 28 for Uranus and 16 for Neptune.

지난 20년 동안 목성과 토성 주변에서 수십 개의 위성이 발견되었습니다. 그러나 2003년 이후로 천왕성 주위를 도는 새로운 위성은 발견되지 않았으며, 해왕성에 공식적으로 추가된 새로운 위성은 단 하나뿐이었습니다. 새로운 발견으로 천왕성은 총 28개, 해왕성은 16개로 늘어났습니다.

2024년 2월 23일자 국제천문학연합 소행성센터·소행성전자회보에서 천왕성에 1개, 해왕성에 2개의 위성 발견이 보고되었다. 모두 지금까지 지상 관측에서 발견된 천왕성과 해왕성 위성 중에서 가장 어두운 것이다. 천왕성의 새로운 위성 발견은 약 20년 만에 이번 발견에 따라 천왕성에서 확인된 위성수는 28개, 해왕성에서는 16개가 되었다.
