2015 오리온자리 유성우(Orionids) 예측.

오리온자리 유성우는 10월 2일부터 11월 7일까지 주로 활동하는 유성우입니다.

극대기는 10월 22일 새벽이며, 올해 시간당 유성수(ZHR)는 15개입니다.

오리온자리 유성우는 모혜성인 핼리 혜성이 지나가고 남긴 파편들이 있는 곳을 지구가 지나가면서 생기는 유성우로서 12년을 주기로 활발한 활동을 보여주었습니다.

2006년부터 2009년까지는 40-90개의 시간당 유성수를 보여주었고, 2014년-2016년까지는 유성수가 평상시보다 줄어들 것이라고 합니다.

하지만 올해는 상현달(월령 8.6일)이 00시 23분에 지므로, 한밤중에는 달이 없는 하늘에서 유성우를 관찰할 수 있는 최적의 조건을 갖추고 있습니다.

날씨가 맑다면 유성우 관측 (22일 00시부터 04시 사이)을 해보는 것도 좋을 것 같아요~ ^^

2015 Orionid Meteor Shower.

The radiant rises around 10 PM, so no Orionids will be visible in the evening hours. As the radiant rises in the morning hours, so does the number of Orionids and you can expect the highest number in the hour or two before dawn. This year is a good year for the Orionids, as Moon is out of the sky in the morning hours, providing dark skies for observers. The first Orionids appear on October 2, slowly building up to a rather prolonged maximum on October 21 and then diminishing.
