You can see half as many meteors the day before peak as you would see during peak, as seen in the meteor observation data for the 2023 Perseids. You can see more meteors than usual in the days before and after peak.

The graph shows the ZHR (Zenithal Hourly Rate), which is the number of meteors an observer would see under a very dark sky with the radiant of the shower in zenith. ZHR is the Zenithal Hourly Rate, defined as (1 + sum nPER) / sum(Teff/C) where Teff is the effective observing time and C is the total correction coefficient for limiting magnitude, clouds and zenith correction 1/sin(hR). nPER is the number of Perseids observed in those intervals.

2023년 페르세우스자리 유성우의 유성 관측 자료에서 볼 수 있는 것처럼 극대기 하루전날에도 극대기에 볼 수 있는 유성수의 절반을 볼 수 있습니다. 극대기 전후로 1~2일간은 평소보다 많은 유성을 볼 수 있습니다.

그래프는 천정에 유성의 복사점이 있는 매우 어두운 하늘에서 관측자가 볼 수 있는 유성의 수를 나타내는 ZHR 값을 보여줍니다. ZHR은 (1 + sum nPER) / sum(Teff/C)로 정의됩니다. 여기서 Teff는 유효 관측 시간이고 C는 한계 등급, 구름 및 천정 보정 1/sin(hR)에 대한 총 보정 계수입니다. nPER은 해당 간격에서 관측된 페르세우스자리 유성우의 유성수입니다.
