New bright comet discovered by the All-Sky Automated Survey for Supernovae (ASAS-SN). Now it is bright as 8.6 mag. It is expected to brighten up to 7.5 mag in October. In the Northern Hemisphere, it stays observable in excellent condition for a long time. In the Southern Hemisphere, it is observable in good condition now. Comet ASASSN (C/2017 O1) will move northeast across Taurus and Perseus this fall, slowly brightening as it approaches perihelion on October 14th in Perseus. It comes closest to the Earth four nights later. The comet is currently visible in the mid-night sky through modest-sized telescopes.

ASASSN 혜성은 2017년 7월 19일에 초신성 관측을 위한 전천 자동 탐색 망원경에 의해 발견되었습니다. 이 혜성은 발견 당시 15.3등급이었고 근일점은 2017년 10월 14일입니다. 지금 현재 이 혜성의 밝기는 약 8.6등급이고 10월 중에 7.5등급까지 밝아질 것으로 예상됩니다. 북반구에서는 오랫동안 관측 조건이 좋을 것이고, 남반구에서는 지금이 관측 적기입니다. ASASSN 혜성은 9월과 10월에 걸쳐서 항소자리와 페르세우스자리를 이동해갑니다. 이 혜성은 중소형 망원경으로 한밤중에 볼 수 있습니다.
